Dream Path

Album Cover - Dream Path From the Mohawk community of Six Nations, Ontario, Darrin Jamieson's debut album is an independent project that nudges past the characteristics of a mere demo recording. Most of his material carries a sixties pop attitude reminiscent of early Pink Floyd (this album keeps conjuring images of Syd Barrett) and Beatles influences, which has been a popular direction in the indie music scene over the past few years.

He also calls upon some rudiments of folk, blues and country with tinges of jazzy R&B elements. His ambition and passion for the art of music-making are evident in the amount of work he put into the project complete with string arrangements and various orchestrations.

An added bonus, the album also features a 1937 recording of "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere", the only recording ever made by his grandfather, Bob Jamieson. Meanwhile, Jamieson's live appearances have been generating attention in southeastern Ontario, with packed houses and favorable press.

In addition to the song writing, Jamieson performs acoustic guitar, vocals, drums & percussion. Other musicians include Ian Nielson and Denis Rondeau, bass; Joe Peeres, lead guitar; Rick Anderson, harmony arrangements/keys/back up vocals; Kiki Misumi, cello; Alex Cheung, violin.

I am really impressed with the rest of the songs, including the beautiful instrumental piece "4 Corners". You really did write a lot of songs with your daughter in mind, didn't you! :) The songs are great.

I hear a beautiful testiment. I feel your pain...and then the happiness and joy in your songs that are unbelievably rich in family roots and connected overtness...

Great tunes! ... There's some really nice acoustic guitar happening. Like the strings too.
